At this year’s 成人式 (seijinshiki), apparently the above video was passed out on DVD to the young citizens now endowed with suffrage by the 明るい選挙推進協会 (Akarui Senkyo Suishin Kyoukai). It’s about 20 minutes long, but worth every minute.

This is kind of amazing. There is an adult game called 幼なじみは大統領 (Osananajimi wa Daitouryou) where it seems like the girl next door becomes president of Japan… there’s something about the president of Russia too??? I dunno, it looks just like another crazy エロゲー.
In any case, someone took the opening for the game and used photos of actual heads of state to celebrate the release of the game. It is nothing short of brilliant. Don’t miss the Putin/Kim Jong-il kiss scene!

What if the girls from K-ON! were Maximum the Hormone fans?

Hatarake!BOYS
Written by Jeshii on 2009.07.30 – 22:57 -Sorry for all the けいおん！ (K-ON!) posts recently, but too much good stuff keeps coming out of it! This parody song of the opening Kagayake!GIRLS is an anti-NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) song. It’s really harsh, saying “Work or die, please choose one or the other.” But if you just take it with a grain of salt, it is an awesome answer to the ニート万歳 (NEET banzai) feeling of a lot of NicoDou videos. Plus, the fact that it is sung by girls as if it was the girls from けいおん！, maybe this will inspire some NEETs to actually go out and get jobs…? One can only hope.

What if Yui hated Mugi-chan?

The けいおん！(K-ON!) MAD series, 「もし唯がむぎちゃんのこと嫌いだったら」 (“Moshi Yui ga Mugi-chan no koto kirai dattara“) has come to a close with 8 episodes. The series was pretty amazing for not only the silly MAD moments, but the うｐ主 (appu-nushi) also makes some pretty sweet PVs out of songs from the CDs. Goodbye Michael

But when you live in Japan as a foreigner, you find out that even if you didn’t know any Japanese, you could bring a karaoke bar to its knees with a few choice Michael Jackson songs. For that, I am forever indebted. Thanks Michael.

Nanairo no Nico Nico Douga

It’s here. After a slew of imitators, the true successor to the ニコニコ流星群 is here. Yes, my friends, right now, NicoDou is celebrating the release of the next megamix. 七色のニコニコ動画 (Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga) is here.
This is my first real megamix since getting into NicoDou hardcore. I love the 流星群, since that gave me the jump start I needed to get into in the first place, but this one… It is like a summary of my last year of NicoLife. I’ve featured a number of these songs on the blog over the last year, although not all of them! Can you believe that this blog will be one whole year old in just over 2 months?! WTF.
I have a list of the songs after the jump, minus the HEROES section (the section of chaos from 9:40 to 11:10) since really you could just go to the 流星群 for those songs. If you are a experienced ニコ厨 (NicoChuu), listen to it before you check the list below. See how many you recognize! If you are new to NicoDou, this is a great way to catch up! XD
(BTW, as for the English name, I would call it Rainbow Colored NicoNicoDouga if I were in charge, but a few places seem to already be translating it as “7 Colors of Nico Nico Douga.” I hate translation. 日本語バンザイ！ Oh, and as always, if you don’t have a NicoDou account, why not?!)

Media circus is a go! SMAP member, 草彅剛 (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) was arrested for being naked in public after a night at the bar. First off, I totally feel for the guy. Who hasn’t drunk too much and ended up naked in a park? I know I have.
Anyway, NicoDou is aflame at the moment with Tsuyoshi ⅹ はっぱ隊 (Happa-tai) or 兄貴 (Aniki) MADs. The media and government are like “BAD,” but it seems like most everyone on ニコ動 is pretty forgiving. But MAD-wise, it’s gonna be crazy over the next few weeks I’m sure, but here’s what I’ve got for you to start off, after the jump.
Oh, and his quote is priceless: 裸だったら、何が悪い！ (Hadaka dattara, nani ga warui! “What’s wrong with being naked?”) Amen.

Somewhere, deep in the bowels of the Outlands, where all the memes live in wondrous chaotic harmony, the chill Cowboy Bepop fell for the sweet, yet awesome Final Fantasy. I am proud to announce the birth of their love child!
If you watch the nicovideo version, when Shantotto shows up on screen, the spam is fantastic. People are such nerds. It’s great.
Also, did you know Shantotto is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara? Almost as epic as when they cast Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

Absolute Silliness: Haruhi + Card Captor Sakura
Written by Jeshii on 2009.01.07 – 15:41 -Okay, as an ex-animeholic, I try to stay away from Anime in general. For example, a new anime came out featuring 東方Project characters, I didn’t even blink and passed it up. That’s just how hard I am.
And I have never seen ハルヒ (Haruhi). Like I said, I generally don’t watch anime.
Regardless of these facts, the above video found on ニコニコ動画 made me couple over in laughter more times than I am willing to admit. The song is the opening theme to Card Captor Sakura.
