Okay, I admit it. I have a penchant for pretty Japanese girls. What of it? But how will I ever keep track of time if I’m busy looking at Japanese girly pics? What if there was a clock that consisted of just pictures of cute girls holding up signs saying what the time is that refreshed every minute?
Truth is much stranger than fiction, my friends. This is the bijin-tokei. It’s got a Japanese and an English site. Japanese tells you the time in JST, while the English site appears to be in Central Time… Why Central? My guess is that they meant to do Eastern Time, but forgot about DST.

My Maid: Is there any question?

If you remember my entry about ティッシュ姫, you will remember the whole argument over if it is a guy or a girl. The funny thing about this argument is that people can’t trust anything anymore. I think my favorite incarnation of this is the comments that show up on this series of 踊ってみた (odotte mita) videos from ニコニコ動画. It’s obviously a very attractive young lady who goes by ミンカ (Minka) dancing in a maid outfit for all of our enjoyments. But, the comments still argue over her gender!

Absolute Silliness: Haruhi + Card Captor Sakura
Written by Jeshii on 2009.01.07 – 15:41 -Okay, as an ex-animeholic, I try to stay away from Anime in general. For example, a new anime came out featuring 東方Project characters, I didn’t even blink and passed it up. That’s just how hard I am.
And I have never seen ハルヒ (Haruhi). Like I said, I generally don’t watch anime.
Regardless of these facts, the above video found on ニコニコ動画 made me couple over in laughter more times than I am willing to admit. The song is the opening theme to Card Captor Sakura.
I humbly submit this mote of silliness for your perusal.

lol! This is the ending credits for ニコニコ動画 (NicoNicoDouga) 2008. While New Year’s has passed for Japan, it is still 大晦日 (Oomisoka) in various parts of the world. If you want the true ニコニコ動画 experience, start watching this video at 23:51:05 local time.
If you don’t get the style of this video, you probably have not seen 新世紀エヴァンゲリオン (Shinseiki Evangerion, “Neon Genesis Evangelion”). Seeing this really makes me think that I am of the generation of people who are supposed to be watching ニコ動. XD

Okay, don’t ask me why former tennis pro 松岡修造 (Matsuoka Shuzo) is nicknamed “Hot” on ニコニコ動画 (NicoNicoDouga). I don’t get it. BUT, his comments telling people to never give up overlaid on a scene from the Matrix… I dunno if I really get it, but hell if it ain’t funny.

Get Down!

I love the internet. I mean, one little thing will get uploaded and then it seems to just spawn off into something completely different.
This is an excellent case study. So, if you didn’t put your GoldenEye N64 cartridge in all the way and played, the characters (and any model really) would just go crazy. Think human static, limbs flailing in all directions.
Then, someone did a MAD video of it to the song “Promise” by 広瀬香美 (Hirose Koumi).
THEN, someone just did a 2ちゃん cat instead of the models.
THEN, someone made 初音ミク do it.
THEN, someone drew it with a 東方プロジェクト character.
THEN, someone danced it for REAL.
…and then someone mixed it with 吉幾三…
And this blog post fulfills the life cycle. It can now die.

What cute commercials. Basically, they are pointing out the benefits of machines over humans. Watch out for the almost NSFW dump truck in the second set.
The ニコ動 comments are funny for this video. Don’t miss it.
My favorite one is the song that sounds like ABBA’s Dancing Queen. I also like the story book one at the end. Lyrics and transcript from the last two after the jump.

loltastic Fanta commercials

This video has been very popular on my facebook, so I may as well post it to the ol’ blog. I saw it on a random blog a million years ago, so I’m very sorry I can’t credit it. ><;
I think my favorite is ツッパリ先生 (Tsuppari-sensei) because he puts 「吐露非狩古鬱」 (toropikarufurutsuu, “Tropical Fruits”) on the board. I’m a big fan of crazy 当て字 (ateji) like that.
BTW, the poor kids! And watch for the “orz” in the Chinese subs. XD

Monkey Izakaya

宇都宮 (Utsunomiya) is all over the blogs recently! First for destroying art, and this time, for monkeys working at an 居酒屋 (izakaya). Well, I wouldn’t really call it working, unless you call it work when your dog fetches your slippers (our dog does water bottles actually). But everyone seems to be getting something out of this: customers get a cute server, monkey gets 枝豆 (edamame), and the internet community gets a chance to make some awesome puns.
