Two 20 minute videos have shown up on ニコニコ動画 showing the first part of FINAL FANTASY XIII. It looks really good.

But I totally agree with most of the comments. First, Afro is awesome. Second, time to by a PS3. And third… おかさあああああああああん！！！！The part where the girl pretends to shoot the guy at about 10 minutes into the second video has the best comments.

Yes, P(ピー)さん is back. After completing all of the original Super Mario Bros. at some odd high speed factor, he has made good on his promise to start doing Super Mario 3 at high speed. From this video, it looks like this will be quite the challenge! He spent a majority of the video on 1-4, a level that automatically scrolls. A lot of the comments are concerned he won’t be able to make it through those hard ass airships.

Super Fast Mario

This video, ganked from Claytonian, is pretty funny. But I remember thinking, “Sounds like a fun one shot. But I see why he stopped at 1-3.”

But did you know, this is a SERIES! Yes, P (ビー) kept it up and just finished the whole game!!!! Took him 23 videos worth of play… heavily edited videos at that. From the time stamps on the videos, it looks like he has wasted the better part of 4 months doing this. For this, I commend you sir!!! Complete list of videos after the jump. Somewhere, deep in the bowels of the Outlands, where all the memes live in wondrous chaotic harmony, the chill Cowboy Bepop fell for the sweet, yet awesome Final Fantasy. I am proud to announce the birth of their love child!

If you watch the nicovideo version, when Shantotto shows up on screen, the spam is fantastic. People are such nerds. It’s great.

Also, did you know Shantotto is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara? Almost as epic as when they cast Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

Otaku My Ride

The first ever 痛Gフェスタ (Ita G Festa) occured over the weekend on the 9th in お台場 (Odaiba). It was a festival where people showed off all sorts of 痛車 (itasha), being cars with マンガ・アニメ・ゲーム (manga-anime-game) themed stickers or paint.

It was put on by the 痛G magazine and well documented in the videos above.

As an avid ニコ動 fan, I recognized way more than I care to admit. I am also blown away by this new 痛車 thing. I mean, we’ve all seen the silly ricers who take themselves seriously with their goofy ass mods. But, there is no semblance of seriousness left. It is frankly… refreshing.

Some of the ニコ動 comments for this video are worried that once the foreign press gets a hold of it, they will be all like “OMG, Japan is like, teh weird.” But I say, let your freak flag fly!

A new Project Shrine Maiden Arrangement CD is out!

The 東方Project (touhou, known as “Project Shrine Maiden”) Arrangement CD has been released by IOSYS! It is called 東方氷雪歌集 (Touhou Hyousetsu Kashuu) The new single is チルノのパーフェクトさんすう教室 (Chiruno no Paafekuto Sansuu Kyoushitsu, “Cirno’s Perfect Math Class”). The flash version can be seen on the special site.

Once again, Miko shows us he awesome vocal skills. I love this song already. Now, if I can just figure out how to order it from the US… Hmmmm…

Tokyo Game Show Babes Round-up

‘Tis the season for booth babes, or as they are called in Japanese, “Companions.”

So here is the round up of galleries so far:
- @nifty has probably the best set so far.
- Yomiuri’s Gallery. They say they are introducing the booths themselves, but when you see the thumbnails, you’ll know the truth. While this Capcom girl is probably my favorite, I gotta say, this Square Enix chick is hot!
- Kotaku’s collection seems like it was taken with an iPhone. But they are posting newer, better pics all the time on their flickr stream.
- Jiji.com’s collection so far is pretty fetching.
- Joystiq has yet to post an obligatory babe collection. For shame.

Tokyo Game Show!

Tokyo Game Show begins today (10/9 JST) for businesses in Japan, and opens to the public on Saturday!

I was just thinking, “Wow I can’t believe one year has gone by already.” And then I was thinking, “You know you are pretty far gone when you measure years by TGS.”

It’s actually very affordable at 1,200円 (yen) per day, assuming you don’t have to tack $1000 for air fare. >< ;

For the rumors, go check out Kotaku’s round-up. What I really want to go see is the GMT music show going on Saturday night. With しょこたん (Shokotan) and YMCK… It’s going to be ヲタク (otaku) paradise.
