【ニコニコ動画】七色のニコニコ動画
It’s here. After a slew of imitators, the true successor to the ニコニコ流星群 is here. Yes, my friends, right now, NicoDou is celebrating the release of the next megamix. 七色のニコニコ動画 (Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga) is here.

This is my first real megamix since getting into NicoDou hardcore. I love the 流星群, since that gave me the jump start I needed to get into in the first place, but this one… It is like a summary of my last year of NicoLife. I’ve featured a number of these songs on the blog over the last year, although not all of them! Can you believe that this blog will be one whole year old in just over 2 months?! WTF.

I have a list of the songs after the jump, minus the HEROES section (the section of chaos from 9:40 to 11:10) since really you could just go to the 流星群 for those songs. If you are a experienced ニコ厨 (NicoChuu), listen to it before you check the list below. See how many you recognize! If you are new to NicoDou, this is a great way to catch up! XD

(BTW, as for the English name, I would call it Rainbow Colored NicoNicoDouga if I were in charge, but a few places seem to already be translating it as “7 Colors of Nico Nico Douga.” I hate translation. 日本語バンザイ！ Oh, and as always, if you don’t have a NicoDou account, why not?!)

This is from a Lucky Star remix of Paffendorf feat. Leyla de Vaar’s Under My Skin (the Jens O. Remix). This is one of those videos you can’t avoid if you ever look for Lucky Star videos on NicoDou.

Night of Nights? Night of Knights? I dunno. But what I can tell you is that this song shows up everywhere. The first time I heard it was on the Softbank remix. Definitely one of the biggest songs since the last しも mix.

lol, this song makes me happy every time I hear it. This is one of the most famous of the がくっぽいど (Gakuppoido) songs. がくっぽいど (or がくぽ for short) is a Vocaloid pack that sounds like Gackt.

If it surprises you that their is a Kirby song in here… well… I’m sorry. This song has been remixed to death. I mean, if you look up サンドキャニオン on YouTube, all you get are remixes. I literally cannot find the original. I chose my favorite for the YouTube above.

This one I actually missed until fairly recently. I’m super happy it got into the remix. If you can’t read it, it says “I want to die.” Put that with flashing lights and techno music, you have a classic NicoDou hit.

This is a 東方 (Touhou) song that doesn’t get remixed as much as say, ナイト・オブ・ナイツ, which is exactly why I really don’t know it all that well.

#17: Hello Windows

Hello Windows is a song made with Windows default sound files. Brilliant. I never really realized this was a NicoDou original… or maybe it isn’t. But as a Mac guy, I never even thought to feature this one. Okay, I’m only half-serious there. Although, I would be willing to bet that it spawned the meme of remixing songs with Windows sounds.

This song is so sad. I remember the first time I heard it, I nearly cried! This was featured in my 2008 Year in Review as my second favorite Vocaloid song.

I thought this was from Idolmaster for the longest time. It’s actually another song from マクロスF. The chick jumps out of a mech and puts on a concert in a battle zone to this song. I think this shows the whole 萌え (moe) in mecha anime issue fairly well. Silliness and everything that is wrong with anime.

That being said, I like the song. The whole キラッ☆ thing was spoofed in various places and all the attractive girls dancing to this song can’t be overlooked. The fans ate it up. This song is a phenomenon.

Oh man. This was one of the more amazing songs in recent history. Well, it isn’t much without the I was obsessed with this one for a while, but I can’t remember if I posted about it (maybe I avoided it cause it was all over Japan Probe or something). Needless to say, brilliant. DJ OZMA needs a freaking award for this shiz.

メルト and ティッシュ姫 really rocked the charts this year. It is only fitting to have the fusion of the two. メルト technically came along in Dec. of 2007… Actually, so did ティッシュ姫. But, since they both had their heyday in 2008, I’ll forgive ‘em.

As we speak, YouTube and ニコ動 are probably taking these down, but the new perfume single, Dream Fighter, AND the new capsule album, More More More!, are both coming out on November 11th! The music video for Dream Fighter is already showing up on the video sites, but it is also being taken down with incredible speed, so if the above videos are broken, give me a line and I’ll try to find some obscure copies. Or, you could just go download Dream Fighter.

Both of these songs took a few listens to get into, but now I have them on constant loop into my brain. I wonder what it is about 中田ヤスタカ (Nakata Yasutaka) music that makes it so addictive. And with both of these coming out, he is apparently keeping busy these days! Keep it up mang!

For those without a NicoVideo account, here is the YouTube link. For those who don’t get it, you should first get familiar with 吉幾三’s song 俺ら東京さ行くだ.

Basically, since April or so of this year, there has been this crazy fad of mixing 俺ら東京さ行くだ in to all sorts of other songs. From the Jackson 5, to the Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop themes, to Nirvana, to Philharmonic Symphony Orchestras.

It’s kinda like the Japanese version of mixing Cosby with everything on YTMND.

Anyway, so in the mix I am posting about, they mixed 俺ら東京さ行くだ with capsule, Daft Punk, and the Beastie Boys… It blows my mind clean off my shoulders. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Also, since it is the pinnacle of human achievement, I think we can all pretty much give up since it is all down hill from here until the end of the world in 2012.
