Here comes Dogu-chan!

If you have never seen 井口昇 (Iguchi Noboru)’s gore classics Machine Girl or Robo Geisha, you may not be aware of the genre he is essentially responsible for. However, if you’ve seen people have sword fights with less than traditional parts of the body, then 古代少女ドグちゃん (Kodai Shoujo Dogu-chan) may be for you. This is Iguchi’s new television series starring the lovely 谷澤恵里香 (Yazawa Erika), aka アイドリング!!! Member #7. It doesn’t rely on gore as much as his movies, but definitely gives you all the fun campyness that you’d expect. Above is a playlist with whatever is still on You Tube.

BTW, if you don’t understand Japanese, don’t worry, it’s not really that essential. XD

This is awesome. Watch this video (if you don’t like the song, just jump to 3:55 for the main event), and every time you get the reference they are making, give yourself a point. There are 104 ZERO-ONEs! So take your score, and then divide by 104. This is the probability you are Japanese. Not seriously, but there are a lot of random references, and you would have to be very knowledgeable about Japan (Japanese television mostly) to get a good score. I personally got 37.5%! w00t! How did you do?

More Like The Racist Office…

I really can’t believe this SNL skit about the “Japanese Office.” My friend sent it to me and I felt this overwhelming uncomfortable feeling while watching it… then I realized that’s because it is racist. And, then at the end, they say it flat out like that’s supposed to make it better. What do you think? Am I overreacting here?

What cute commercials. Basically, they are pointing out the benefits of machines over humans. Watch out for the almost NSFW dump truck in the second set.

The ニコ動 comments are funny for this video. Don’t miss it.
