Volcano BBQ
Written by Jeshii on 2009.06.15 – 23:39 -This uploader of this video went to Antigua, Guatemala and made a video of magma BBQ. Yes, he used a volcano to cook some meat. The real action starts at 2:21.
The verdict? The meat was pretty good, but had a grainy texture from magma getting on it. The vegetables didn’t cook very well and were still sort of raw. Seemed like it was too hot to stick around to wait for them to cook. However, it was so hot, that some of the other meat in his bag got cooked right there in the bag as he was hiking around on the volcano.
I think this could be the start of a whole new tradition of BBQ.

This was wonderful.
Jeshii what is your background on studying Japanese? Like how long and what not?
I am at about 2 1/2 years of study myself. Trying to break through kanji this summer…

The BGMs rock, probably don’t have to worry about copyright infringement that way. The narrator’s voice is pretty creepy too, lol

I have been studying Japanese for about 10 years now. I have a BA in Japanese and lived in Japan for 3 years. Since then, I’ve worked at a Japanese company in LA for the last 3 years or so.
Best way to learn it, IMHO, is to live there. That was by far where I learned the most.

lol, the music is so perfect! I kept waiting for that magma monster to come up out of the volcano.

I love the fact they thought to do this. I want to cook meat on magma. What fun!
If only volcanoes were readily available.
Luka… do you have any new vids up lately since the drifting/racing stuff?

Was a bit busy this past month but,
I’m working on two, but one of them I might have to patch together because I have a hard time getting the actors together. I should have both up by next month I think.
After that I will probably do some more interviews.

Jeshii, I just noticed your comment on my pizza blog. Thanks ;D
What kind of pizza do you like to make?
And that video of the japanese guy… I think I need to sit down and really listen to that to get the gist, haha.

I make regular old pizzas. Yeasty dough, not thin, not thick. Any toppings! I am pretty forgiving in that matter. I guess from my crazy topping choices, you could call my pizza California style. I once won a contest for most unusual pizza. It was a mabo, chashu, bokchoi pizza. It was really yummy though!
