【ニコニコ動画】七色のニコニコ動画
It’s here. After a slew of imitators, the true successor to the ニコニコ流星群 is here. Yes, my friends, right now, NicoDou is celebrating the release of the next megamix. 七色のニコニコ動画 (Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga) is here.

This is my first real megamix since getting into NicoDou hardcore. I love the 流星群, since that gave me the jump start I needed to get into in the first place, but this one… It is like a summary of my last year of NicoLife. I’ve featured a number of these songs on the blog over the last year, although not all of them! Can you believe that this blog will be one whole year old in just over 2 months?! WTF.

I have a list of the songs after the jump, minus the HEROES section (the section of chaos from 9:40 to 11:10) since really you could just go to the 流星群 for those songs. If you are a experienced ニコ厨 (NicoChuu), listen to it before you check the list below. See how many you recognize! If you are new to NicoDou, this is a great way to catch up! XD

(BTW, as for the English name, I would call it Rainbow Colored NicoNicoDouga if I were in charge, but a few places seem to already be translating it as “7 Colors of Nico Nico Douga.” I hate translation. 日本語バンザイ！ Oh, and as always, if you don’t have a NicoDou account, why not?!)

#1: ブラック★ロックシューター


Never featured Black Rock Shooter, but after going to Burning Man, I have to admit I liked this song better.

#2: Heavenly Star


I was hooked on this song for a while. The MADs for this one are AMAZING.

#3: Do-dai


I’m not a huge Idolm@ster fan, but I’ve been known to like a song here and there. This is not one of them…

#4: みwなwぎwっwてwきwたwww（篠笛禁断症状L5）


This one is just silly. I featured a video with this song previously in my whimsical 4/20 post.

#5: Under My Skin


This is from a Lucky Star remix of Paffendorf feat. Leyla de Vaar’s Under My Skin (the Jens O. Remix). This is one of those videos you can’t avoid if you ever look for Lucky Star videos on NicoDou.

#6: ナイト・オブ・ナイツ


Night of Nights? Night of Knights? I dunno. But what I can tell you is that this song shows up everywhere. The first time I heard it was on the Softbank remix. Definitely one of the biggest songs since the last しも mix.

#7: ダンシング☆サムライ


lol, this song makes me happy every time I hear it. This is one of the most famous of the がくっぽいど (Gakuppoido) songs. がくっぽいど (or がくぽ for short) is a Vocaloid pack that sounds like Gackt.

#8: サンドキャニオン

If it surprises you that their is a Kirby song in here… well… I’m sorry. This song has been remixed to death. I mean, if you look up サンドキャニオン on YouTube, all you get are remixes. I literally cannot find the original. I chose my favorite for the YouTube above.

#9: スカイハイ

Everything I said about the Sand Canyon Kirby song above goes double for this one…

#10: ポップスター

#11: Got The Groove

This one I actually missed until fairly recently. I’m super happy it got into the remix. If you can’t read it, it says “I want to die.” Put that with flashing lights and techno music, you have a classic NicoDou hit.

#12: 亡き王女の為のセプテット

This is a 東方 (Touhou) song that doesn’t get remixed as much as say, ナイト・オブ・ナイツ, which is exactly why I really don’t know it all that well.

#13: Bad Apple!! feat.nomico

I love this song. It’s basically a 東方 song with lyrics. But it’s addictive! No remix necessary.

#14: 俺ら東京さ行ぐだ

This song has a very special place in my heart, so I was thrilled to hear it in the mix.

#15: RAINBOW GIRL

I missed this song all together. Oh well, even I can’t see everything! Good song though!

#16: Starry Sky

This remix of Starry Sky, and subsequently the IKZO remix, are the very reason this blog is called Yamatologic. So I am thrilled to hear it made the cut. But how could it not!

#17: Hello Windows

Hello Windows is a song made with Windows default sound files. Brilliant. I never really realized this was a NicoDou original… or maybe it isn’t. But as a Mac guy, I never even thought to feature this one. Okay, I’m only half-serious there. Although, I would be willing to bet that it spawned the meme of remixing songs with Windows sounds.

#18: 最強パレパレード

A song from the ハルヒ radio show? I don’t know really. Apparently, this song out otakus me.

#19: 空

A very solid Idolmaster song, but again, not one that I was big on.

#20: celluloid

A 初音ミク (Hatsune Miku) song that I missed. I admit it. A little lower tempo than I generally like.

#21: 初音ミクの消失

This song is so sad. I remember the first time I heard it, I nearly cried! This was featured in my 2008 Year in Review as my second favorite Vocaloid song.

#22: ライオン

I didn’t even have to watch マクロスF to have this song in my face wherever I went on the ‘nets. Pretty typical anime song if you ask me.

#23: 星間飛行

I thought this was from Idolmaster for the longest time. It’s actually another song from マクロスF. The chick jumps out of a mech and puts on a concert in a battle zone to this song. I think this shows the whole 萌え (moe) in mecha anime issue fairly well. Silliness and everything that is wrong with anime.

That being said, I like the song. The whole キラッ☆ thing was spoofed in various places and all the attractive girls dancing to this song can’t be overlooked. The fans ate it up. This song is a phenomenon.

#24: ニホンノミカタ～ネバダカラキマシタ～

Oh man. This was one of the more amazing songs in recent history. Well, it isn’t much without the I was obsessed with this one for a while, but I can’t remember if I posted about it (maybe I avoided it cause it was all over Japan Probe or something). Needless to say, brilliant. DJ OZMA needs a freaking award for this shiz.

#25: Promise

I mean, yes, technically this means Promise by 広瀬香美 (Hirose Koumi) is in the mix, but the reason for it is the brilliant GET DOWN video.

#26: 魂のルフラン

An Evangelion song. It has been popular since the late 90′s. I can’t really explain how it is possible that it can still be possible. Nope.

#27: ワールドイズマイン

My favorite Vocaloid song of 2008.

#28: おてんば恋娘

Again, technically this is おてんば恋娘 (Otemba Koimusume), but the REAL reason this song is included is チルノのパーフェクトさんすう教室, which I have featured too many times by now.

As you can probably see, there are also a few other arrangements of this song…

#29: TOWN

Also known as てってってー (Tettettei), this is just background music from parts of Idolmaster. But from such humble beginning, it became a remix sensation.

#30: ぽっぴっぽー

You know you want to drink 初音ミク’s juice. Wow, that sounds really dirty when said outloud.

#31: 溝ノ口太陽族

lol, this show looks pretty awesome, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard of it until now.

#32: 崖の上のポニョ

The big ジブリ (“Ghibli”) movie of last year was about the fish child.

#33: 伯方の塩

This is the perfect example of what happens on NicoDou. Take one random commercial and remix ad infinitum.

#34: smooooch・∀・

Unfortunately, no one can be told what smooooch・∀・ is. You have to see it for yourself.

#35: ダブルラリアット

The 巡音ルカ song that beat out all the others. Brilliant video too.

#36: ってゐ！～えいえんてゐVer～

ってゐ is hard to put into ローマ字 (rouma ji) but I would do ‘Tei personally. Anyway, awesome song and video. 東方 kicked a lot of ass this time around.

#37: 炉心融解

This song was at the top of the charts longer than just about anything. #26 in terms of all time views at this point. Amazing.

#38: おジャ魔女カーニバル!!

Mix silly kids dancing to that frog song with an anime opening and you get another one of the most popular videos of the last year. I love how they call that one kid “Young Gates.” This internet is for silly.

I could see my brother and I doing something like this 15 years ago… probably a good thing you couldn’t easily put video on the internet at that time… (-.-;)

#39: 青く燃える炎

Prince of Tennis. One of the first NicoDou videos ever. Yeah. I’m done with this one.

#40: ザ・レギュラー

More Prince of Tennis musical. ;__;

#41: ハンマー状態

YES. You know I’m happy about this one.

#42: RED ZONE

This is definitely the part of the mix that I liked best.

#43: Don’t say “lazy”

Even though けいおん！ is pretty recent, I’m glad しも took the time to add this one to it.

#44: Reach Out To The Truth

I missed P4, but this goes out to ピーちゃん. ^^;
