Oh, please shoot me now.

Written by Jeshii on 2009.02.17 – 01:19 -

お久しぶりです。 I’m back.

So, while I was gone, Danny Choo (of Tokyo Stormtrooper fame) became a guest blogger on BoingBoing.

Now, those who are left over and are still reading this may know I’m a positive guy. I don’t make many negative blog posts since they just lead to more negativity. You may also know I love BoingBoing (especially if you read my blog shares).

But what you may not know (unless you read my Twitter) is that I generally loathe Danny Choo. So, now that I’m back from my paternal hiatus, I find my favorite blog ever featuring my generally least favorite blogger ever.

Makes me so sad.

So, do you guys have an opinion on Danny Choo, one way or another. I mean, he had the guys to expose the whole 兄貴 meme on ニコニコ動画… But, again, I didn’t mention it for a reason… and the fact that he did mention it makes me think we are destined to be opposites in the world of foreign Japan loving dorks.

Anyway, enough of this. Let’s see what kind of new ニコ’s there are since I’ve been gone…

Update: I hate my life. Now he has the ability to embed nicovideos on his site. I lose forever.

Aw, maybe he just needs to invite you to the next blogger party?

It’s not his fault I don’t like him. I tried to subscribe to his blog and twitter, but that’s what made me realize I don’t like him. I am not his target audience.

And really, I made my bed by moving back to LA. I could have stayed in Japan and kept making Yamato Damacy. But I made my choice. So even if I did get invited, I wouldn’t be able to make it.

Again, why I don’t like posting negative entries! Just leads to more negativity and drama! NicoNicoDouga and JP bands in LA make the world a happier place. :)

Aw, but what would the internets be without a little controversy and drama? I say, play it up! Maybe I, er, *someone* should go over to his blog and be like “Hey, Jeshii’s talking smack about you.”

I’ve got nothing personal against Danny Choo. He seems like — and from the second-hand anecdotes I’ve heard, is — a really nice guy. He’s also been able to turn his hobby into big-time profit, and more power to him.

    But.

I’m a 30-something office worker — an average Joe with zero interest in Japanese “subculture.” It’s like you said, I’m not his target audience. I just don’t care about figurines and dancing Stormtroopers and pictures of the day’s lunch or what have you.

That being said, Danny has a huge audience who *are* into those sorts of things. And again, more power to him. But it’s not for me.

Whatever. That’s what the internets are for. Variety.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be heading back to my own extremly tiny corner of the internets, reserved for the rambling and swear-prone.
