1930s Japan in Color

Here is a brief review of the 1935 and 1937 documentaries, Modern Tokyo and Floral Japan. These videos show a Japan that is so distant from the アキバ candy pop we love so today.
I have a feeling the clip shown was probably from some NHK special. I wish I could find the whole thing. I wonder what future generations will think after watching some of the videos people are taking today. How long until it is hardly recognizable any more?

Thanks for your visit to my blog, and wow! you have great stuff here. Keep up a good work!
You know what? Even TV animes were educational when I was a kid. We could learn morals from them, while parents of course taught us well. But nowadays these great animes disappeared from TV screen because they cannot catch large volume of audience, I guess, and in return entertainment-oriented animes are more popular.
Including myself, we are losing something very prescious that was inside our spirit as a matter of course in our history. Unless otherwise, we do not kill each other between parents and child, which kind of incidents occur almost everyday, anywhere in this small island today.

Sometime, us foreigners look at the pictures of old Japan and wonder where it went. But, every country in the world has old customs that are gong away. People who dress as cowboys in California are looked at as crazy, just like someone who would dress as a samurai in Tokyo.
The modern world is difficult, but I still believe love is the answer! XD As John and Yoko said, “War is Over! If you want it.”
